POLICIES FOR PRIVATE ART LESSONS

REGISTRATION POLICIES:

Registrations are processed in the order in which they are received and class enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis for ALL registrations. Registration is ONLY complete when Nicole Christian Fine Art & Illustration Studio is in receipt of full payment.  At minimum an e-mail, mailing address, and phone number are required at time of registration. 

 

BOOKINGS ARE NON NONTRANSFERABLE:

Private art lessons are ONLY reserved for the person who the registration was for. In the event that a parent has signed up a child, we do make note of that - but there are NOT to be any transfers of registration. (Meaning if you sign up one child, and they cannot attend one of the sessions - you can not transfer that spot in class to another sibling or friend and you also cannot transfer that registration to a different date.)

BOOKING DATES ARE NON EXCLUSIVE:

While we will always try to keep our weekly private art lesson students on the same day and time every week when renewing another block of multiple lessons, we can not guarantee that the dates will be available long term as some dates become booked further out by someone else, we are hosting our own weekly workshops on those same future dates/times or they become unavailable for other scheduling reasons. We will always do our best to keep students updated on open dates when requesting weekly sessions that will span over many months, but unless those dates are booked and paid for ahead of time we cannot guarantee the dates will be available when the time comes.  The only dates that are secured on the calendar are the ones booked and paid for.

RENEWING YOUR LESSON PACKAGES:

Since many of our students have been with us for years and we have a rotating wait-list; about halfway through your current block of sessions we will now be reaching out to you discuss your plan to renew  at the same day and time (if they are available):

If you ARE renewing at the same available time slot: We will send a renewal notice and invoice that must be paid within 7 days or the spot will be given to the next person on the wait list

If you ARE NOT renewing: We will give the time slot to the next person on our wait list when your lessons have ended. You are more than welcome to book with us again! Just reach out for availability :)

TUITION & ART SUPPLY FEES FOR PRIVATE ART LESSONS.

Tuition (paying for a private lesson) is for instruction only (not supplies) unless otherwise discussed and is clearly outlined in the booking description. This description will state exactly what supplies are included. Any change to the students interests or supply costs will change the cost of the lessons. We will ALWAYS notify and discuss any price changes before are incurred.

BELONGINGS

We are not responsible for missing or damaged items/artwork left at the studio. If you are leaving art supplies to be used by you on a weekly basis you are required to put your name on them in a visible location. We will label any supplies left with us that isn't labeled to avoid a students taking the wrong items home.

BEHAVIOR POLICIES

 Nicole Christian Fine Art & Illustration Studio reserves the right to refuse admission or dismiss ANY student (Child or adult) at ANY time due to ANY behavior that we deem to be unsafe, threatening or inappropriate. This includes but is not limited to: Acting in an unsafe or threatening manner, disrupting students or instructors, using drugs or alcohol, vulgar language, yelling over the phone etc. Any student/parent who is dismissed under these terms will immediately have their remaining lessons terminated, and they will no longer be allowed to book with us and refunds will not be given for any remaining lessons that were unused after being dismissed due to behavior issues.

CELL PHONE POLICIES

We ask that phones are silenced during lessons to avoid interruptions and all phone calls are made outside of the shop and not during lessons.

ONLINE CLASSES

If taking a virtual private art lesson, a link to the online classroom will be e-mailed in advance of the first class. This link is only for enrolled students and not to be shared with those outside of the class. Students must download zoom in advance and join class with username or email matching registration.

​

DROP OFF & PICKUP POLICY:

Private art lessons are drop off only. With our move to the new location - the front of the studio is now our retail gift area and since we close the retail space during many of our classes - waiting is NOT permitted inside the gift shop while we are in session.  Since we often have lessons scheduled one after the other we ask that you please pickup students promptly at the end of a lesson.

PHOTOGRAPHS & DOCUMENTATION

Photographs and videos may be taken during class and may be published and used to promote the art programs at Nicole Christian Fine Art & Illustration Studio in both online and print. If you do not want yourself, your child, or your child’s artwork photographed, this is not an issue! Simply notify the us in writing at NicoleChristianCo@gmail.com or speak to us in person about it and we can have you sign the photo refusal form. Without a photo refusal form signed, we reserve the right to use photos from a lesson for promotional material.

ARRIVAL TIMES/LATE SHOW POLICY

All students are expected to arrive on time. We reserve the right to cancel a lesson without a reschedule when the student is over 15 minutes late without communication. We do not offer time extensions on a lesson when arriving late and a lesson will still end at the same time. And while we know that emergencies do arise, traffic, car issues etc.  Please try to give us a call before class starts to let us know you are running late whenever possible :)

Please do not drop off your child or arrive yourself earlier than 5 minutes before the start of the class unless otherwise agreed upon with the instructor, as we may still be in a previous lesson. Students should be on time and picked up promptly as the studio may close or another class may be starting soon after.

We do not offer refunds after booking private art lessons

RESCHEDULING POLICY FOR PRIVATE ART LESSONS

Please read and understand this following sections carefully. Due to numerous last minute cancellations & no-shows as well as requests to 'hold off' on the remaining lessons (due to no fault of the instructor) we have now made major changes to our cancellation/rescheduling policies in regards to private art lessons.  Please understand why we have made this change:

 

In the past, last minute rescheduling, moving remaining lessons to other months &  'holding' lessons when students had other after school activities was something we always tried to work with when requested,  as we understand things can happen, but ultimately it didn't work out; and our leniency was taken advantage of week after week on numerous occasions. We are a very small art studio and these policies are now in place to avoid us from needing to raise our prices due to our kindness being taken advantage of in the past, and is why we have oped to make these new policy changes.

RESCHEDULING ALLOWANCES:

The new rescheduling policy for private art lessons are as follows:

- For every 6 private art lessons booked (this refers to 6 booked at ONCE in a single block) we offer ONE reschedule without forfeit.

- This does not apply to ANY bookings of less than 6 at a time

- Makeup lesson will ALWAYS be the week after the final lessons were scheduled to end (unless it lands on a holiday, in that case it will be moved to the next available date the instructor has open)

- These reschedules do not 'roll-over'

- No shows with no communication will not be rescheduled and are forfeited with no refunds.

Example: You book 6 lessons and cant make one. That's totally fine! We dont even need to know what happened, just let us know you cant make it and we will be more than happy to reschedule that ONE and move it the END of the 6 lessons at the same day and time.

​

Example: You book 12 lessons and cant make two. That's totally fine! We dont even need to know what happened, just let us know you cant make it and we will be more than happy to reschedule those TWO lessons and them to the END of the 12 lessons at the same day and time.

​

Example: You book 2 lessons and cant make one. As per the policies that single lesson is forfeited without a reschedule unless you opt to pay the rescheduling fee outlined below.

​

Example: You book 6 lessons and after 2 lessons you realize that it will no longer work with your schedule or child took on a different after school activity that doesn't work with your schedule anymore and you no longer wish to attend 'at this time'.  First, as a courtesy we will see if we have any openings on other days/times IN THAT SAME WEEK for each lesson that you cannot attend. If we do not or if those do not work for you - as per the new policies, those lessons are then forfeited without a refund or reschedule as we no longer offer 'holds' on private art lessons.

After the allotted reschedule dates have been used up, any additional cancellations by the student/parent are to be forfeited with out refunds. A 50% (of the total single lesson) rescheduling fee per cancelled lesson can be paid if the student/parent wishes to not forfeit and wants to reschedule it after using up the allotted reschedule. Please note: The reschedules are based on calendar availability and not guaranteed.

Frequent cancellations by students/parents will cause us to refuse booking you in the future and it is up to the discretion of the instructor to decide on that.

​

IF THE INSTRUCTOR NEEDS TO CANCEL YOUR LESSON:

If the instructor needs to cancel your lesson due to health or other personal emergencies we will ALWAYS fully refund or reschedule that affected lesson. This policy has always been in place and has not changed.

Example: Your lesson is cancelled due to an emergency on the instructors part and the reschedule date DOES work for you. We move the lesson

Example: Your lesson is cancelled due to an emergency on the instructors part and the reschedule date DOES NOT work for you. We will refund your affected lesson

​

WINTER SESSIONS - INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY: While we try to refrain from cancelling due to weather, somethings are out of our control. Cancellations that result in a weather cancellation are based on the instructors ability to arrive safely to class and are based on weather/road conditions.

 

Unless otherwise noted - Anytime the local School system has a delay, early dismissal or has cancelled school due to inclement weather - OR the instructors location has a weather incident making travel unsafe - class will be cancelled for that day and a makeup day will be added on to the end of the sessions

Example: Your lesson is cancelled due to weather and the reschedule date DOES work for you. We move the lesson

Example: Your lesson is cancelled due to weather and the reschedule date DOES NOT work for you. We will refund your affected lesson

​

CANCELLATIONS BEYOND OUR CONTROL

PLEASE NOTE  if a class is cancelled due to situations beyond our control, for example severe restrictions by the government in regards to COVID 19 or any further lock downs or 'stay at home orders' - Nicole Christian - Fine Art & Illustration Studio will not be issuing refunds, instead you will be offered the option of transferring to an ONLINE experience. We will also offer you the option of a credit which will be valid for six months from date of purchase and used on any of our upcoming classes or activities. If not used in that six month window it will expire.

CHANGES TO POLICIES AND PRICING

Changes in our policies can happen at any time. In the event this happens it will only affect NEW/RENEWING sessions and you will be notified before booking as everyone who is booking with us is given the policies to review and agree before booking.

HOW POLICY CHANGES WILL BE COMMUNICATED

Changes in our terms will be updated and posted on this page and the date here will reflect the date they were updates. Changes will be emailed to all students before they renew and by booking a private lesson you are stating that you have read and agree to the terms above.
